What’s your inspiration behind your collection?

DeCoito says she combined Western style with glam and embellishments by using different types of embellishments like studding, jewelry, and mirrored acrylic. She also said another inspiration was female empowerment.

If you could describe your garment/collection in three words or less what would they be?

Western, Empowerment, Bold

What are you most excited about the show?

“Seeing the garments transforming from dress form to real form, actually seeing the garments on models and everything coming together with hair and makeup”

 

Alison Cloet  

What’s your inspiration behind your collection?

“My grandpa, who immigrated from Belgium.”

If you could describe your garment/collection in three words or less what would they be?

Rustic and woolen

What are you most excited about the show?

“Seeing everything completed.”

 

Alesha Johnson

What’s your inspiration behind your collection?

Johnson said quirky fruit and vegetables such as figs and pomegranates were inspirations for her collection. She used screen printed fabrics and linen to create her textiles.

If you could describe your garment/collection in three words or less what would they be?

Detailed, Corky, Whimsical

What are you most excited about the show?

“Seeing the whole collection come together and the movement of the garments on models.”

 

LaRee Emmanuel

What’s your inspiration behind your collection?

Emmanuel said her grandfather, who was a police officer, and shows like Brooklyn 99 were major inspirations for her collection. She wanted to take elements of these inspirations and turn them into something fun and feminine.

If you could describe your garment/collection in three words or less what would they be?

Sophisticated and Fun

What are you most excited about the show?

“Being able to show off our designs.”

What’s your inspiration behind your collection?

“My younger brother and teenagers, Generation z in particular. This generation is very technological.”

If you could describe your garment/collection in three words or less what would they be?

Playful and Vibrant

What are you most excited about the show?

“Being able to display our work and having an audience see what we’ve accomplished.”

 

Kate Francisco

What’s your inspiration behind your collection?

“Ladies’ golfing attire from the 1930s.”

If you could describe your garment/collection in three words or less what would they be?

Classic, Versatile, Comfortable

What are you most excited about the show?

“I’m excited to show my collection and see the result of everyone’s hard work!”

 

Samirah Alotaibi

What’s your inspiration behind your collection?

“The traditional costumes of Saudi Arabia.”

If you could describe your garment/collection in three words or less what would they be?

Authentic, Contemporary, Unique

What are you most excited about the show?

“Showing my work that reflects my cultural background in a contemporary way.”

 

Madilyn Marshall

What’s your inspiration behind your collection?

Marshall said 70s and 80s fashion influenced her work, with colors such as pastels from japanese fashion. She describes her collection as super girly and feminine.

If you could describe your garment/collection in three words or less what would they be?

Girly

What are you most excited about the show?

“Showcasing my collection.”

 

Riley Naughton

What’s your inspiration behind your collection?

Naughton used this class to perform an Independent study of traditional menswear. She said she drew inspiration from the menswear that occurred in the 1800s, using elements such as high-waisted pants and capes. Her goal was to transform menswear capes into something more feminine, something that females could wear.  

If you could describe your garment/collection in three words or less what would they be?

Eclectic   
What are you most excited about the show?

“Showing off what I’ve been working on to an audience.”

 

Levi Beutler  

What’s your inspiration behind your collection?

Beutler said street-wear, Hip-hop and rock n roll music influenced his work. He said he incorporated his background of growing up in a rural by utilizing camo in some of his designs.

If you could describe your garment/collection in three words or less what would they be?

Random

What are you most excited about the show?

“Showcasing my work/design to friends, family and the general public.”
