For college students, Saint Patrick’s day is often associated with boozy celebrations requiring a mandatory green dress code and overused Irish puns. There’s no doubt that local bars and gatherings will be offering copious amounts of Guinness and whisky. Thanks to the luck of the Irish, Saint Patrick’s Day lands on a Friday this year. For UNL students, this happens to be the Friday before spring break. So, here’s a twist on a Saint Patrick’s Day refreshment to get the party started early!
Ingredients make 1 serving
- 2 oz. your favorite cold brew coffee
o My favorite is the 100% Arabica Bean Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate from Trader Joe’s.
- 2 oz. Stout
- 1½ oz. Irish whiskey
- ¾ oz. simple syrup
- 1/2 oz. heavy cream
o For a lighter option I would replace with half and half. Even better and dairy free; coconut or almond milk.
- Cinnamon as desired
Prepare: Mix coffee, stout, whiskey and simple syrup into a glass. Add ice. Slowly pour in cream so it gradually sinks into coffee, garnish with cinnamon.
